I joined TWI as a Senior Project Leader
in the Long Range Ultrasonics (LRU) Section in March 2006. My knowledge
on the application of guided waves for pipe and pipeline inspection
increased and I had the opportunity to engage in various EC funded
collaborative projects which enabled me to get to know numerous SMEs and
research organisations in Europe.
I was promoted to Section Manager of LRU
in January 2007 and managed a research team of over 15 staff. In 2008, I
became Head of Business Development in the NDT Group. I actively
promoted and developed business in advanced inspection techniques such
as Ultrasonics, Phased Array, Digital Radiography and Long-Range
Ultrasonics to name a few and was very much involved in the sales of the
Teletest product in the Far East region. I had also participated in
various inspection jobs in Saudi Arabia, using the Eddy Current and
Ultrasonics inspection techniques.
In 2009, I headed Collaborative Business
Development for TWI Ltd, where I championed the collaborative proposal
submission which was worth €30million in a single submission. The
outcome was promising where TWI secured approximately €10million from
the submission. Collaborative projects generated approximately 22% of
TWI Group's income for 2010. I am now the Technology Group Manager of
the NDT Group, one of the largest Technology Groups in TWI with over 70
staff.
Whilst serving at TWI, I have also
obtained my Eur Ing and IntPE(UK) status and became a Fellow of the
Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and British Institute of
Non-Destructive Testing. I have also received my Professorship from the
Brunel University in 2009. Life is challenging and exciting at TWI where
I am exposed to a number of different activities from business
development to technical challenges.
