Dr Richard Dolby OBE, FREng, FIMMM

President of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining

Richard Dolby took up the post of President of IOM3 in January 2006 in which he will serve for two years. Richard retired as TWI Director of Research and Technology in the summer of 2003 but still retains his connections in the world of welding by serving as a member of the Professional Affairs Board of The Welding Institute. He is also on the UK Technical Advisory Committee for Structural Integrity of Nuclear Plant, and on the Materials Board of the UK Defence Scientific Advisory Council.

Advanced metallic manufacturing - the need for speed

This event will address issues and interests common to both the motorsport and aerospace industry. It is supported by the Advanced Manufacturing Park and the NCN and will be of interest to manufacturers and supply chain companies who wish to learn the latest developments. Eleven key industry professionals will present during the day including speakers from Boeing, Airbus, Rolls-Royce, TWI, Renault F1 and Ap Racing.
