Library catalogue now available online

TWI Library

A central part of any library service is the maintenance of a detailed catalogue to enable readers to find stock quickly. The TWI Library catalogue has now been made available through the TWI Website ( iguana.twi.co.uk/cgi-bin/ntxcgi.exe). It lists all books, journals, CDs, reports and most standards held by the library. It also indexes the newer pamphlets and microfiches, and allows users with a JoinIT password direct access to TWI staff papers held electronically on the website.

You can search for the author, title or subject you require and, from the list of items retrieved, find their location in the library. You can then phone or e-mail the library with a request for a loan of the whole item, or a photocopy of part of the document, as required.

The library is the leading repository in the Western world of material on welding and joining. It has, over the years, added to its collection the library of the former London office, donations from eminent members of staff and figures from the welding world, such as Richard Weck and A A Smith, and also and collections offered by Industrial Member companies such as ESAB. The library would also be delighted to hear from any companies who would like to donate valuable items to the collection for the benefit of all Members.
