Graduate - The Role

Project Leader is the entry level position for engineering or science graduates at TWI.

What will I be doing as a Project Leader?

  • Providing research and technology services to customers worldwide
  • Managing projects with values from £1k to £1m
  • Working with teams to create innovative technologies
  • Solving engineering problems
  • Presenting ideas and information to clients and colleagues
  • Developing business for your own and other technology groups

Project Leaders have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and are given a degree of technical freedom when working on projects.

Technology Groups are split into:

  • Advanced materials and processes - polymers, microtechnology ceramics
  • Electron beam, friction and forge processes
  • Laser and sheet processes
  • Manufacturing support and arc processes
  • Metallurgy, - ferritic steels, corrosion resistant alloys and surfacing
  • Non-destructive testing - long range ultrasonics
  • Structural integrity - finite element analysis, defect assessment, structural
