Training at TWI, e.g. for technical troops

TWI run both classroom and workshop based courses in all of the joining technologies - welding, brazing, adhesive bonding and in a wide range of metallic and non-metallic materials. Many of these courses lead to TWI certificates of competence, European Welding Federation qualifications, CSWIP certification or approval to relevant European Standards such as EN287. In view of the requirement to comply with EN729 when welding armour plate the EWF qualifications are particularly relevant.

In addition to joining technology training, TWI also trains and certificates individuals in visual inspection and the NDE techniques of surface testing, ultrasonic and radiographic techniques and eddy current examination.
