Professional Membership tie

All technical staff are encouraged to belong to an engineering institution and registration with the Engineering Council (UK). The Welding Institute - the Professional Division of TWI - offers personal professional membership and is a Licensed Member of the Engineering Council (UK).

Technical staff who are not already in membership of The Welding Institute are encouraged to work towards membership and registration as a Chartered Engineer/Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician. Graduates joining TWI are invited to become a Graduate Member (GradWeldI) and initial registration with the EC (UK), whilst working towards full membership and registration.

The Welding Institute recognises TWI's training programme towards membership/registration requirements and TWI offers support mentoring by experienced Members. Professional review interviews for membership and CEng/IEng are conveniently arranged at TWI and its regional offices.

Further information on the requirements for membership and registration can be found at http://www.twiprofessional.com/
