TWI supports the development and application of a wide range of fabricated structures via a broad range of materials testing and characterisation activities. We offer a comprehensive suite of standard mechanical and corrosion testing and our principal strength lies in our ability to develop innovative test solutions, drawing upon our multi-disciplinary expertise. TWI has used this ability to develop and apply widely used industry standards such as BS7910, BS7608 and to help its clients harness the potential of new technology to give them competitive advantage.

TWI has extensive engineering facilities comprising, amongst others, machines for impact, fracture toughness, fatigue, fatigue precracking and creep testing as well as large scale rigs and full-scale pipe testing facilities.
