Weldspec

Keeping track of welding procedures is an essential and expensive part of the QA system for any fabricator. It follows that the documentation associated with the welding procedures should be up-to-date and well organised.

Weldspec is a multi-user application for managing welding procedures.

Scope

Weldspec is designed to store welding procedures (WPSs and WPAR/PQRs). The data which can be stored are based on the relevant variables specified by the most commonly used codes, including EN15614, ASME IX and AWS D1.1. All of the variables associated with WPSs and WPAR/PQRs can be stored.

Features and benefits

Weldspec features a Windows-standard user interface, making the program very easy to use.

Weldspec can be operated on a network, so that multiple users can have access to the software.

Weldspec features a great deal of welding code rules and drop down menus. This saves time when entering the documents, and minimises the risk of making mistakes when creating procedures.

Weldspec includes databases of code-accepted base materials and filler materials, so you don't have to keep referring to manufacturers' specifications.

Weldspec includes professional printout or 'export to .pdf' facilities for all documentation so you can send hardcopy or email your documents to clients or inspectors.

Weldspec features comprehensive search and sort routines. This enables you to immediately identify if you already have any procedures for a given joint. Each time you avoid unnecessarily qualifying a new procedure, you save money.

Weldspec automatically creates WPSs directly from PQR/WPQRs. This minimises the amount of typing required, saving time when creating documents and ensuring you meet code requirements.

Weldspec incorporates an automatic link to a sketching tool of your choice. You can select from pre-drawn sketches for commonly used joints or you can make up your own sketches, which are included directly on documents.

Weldspec links automatically to TWI's Welding Coordinator system, for managing fabrication projects. This gives full traceability between production welds and their associated welding procedure documentation.
