Requirement for the Class of FELLOW (FWeldI)
The class of Fellows recognises mature professional engineers at Senior Member level who have achieved significant career progression to a position of important responsibility related to welding/joining and have made a notable contribution to the technology. To qualify for election to this class, a person must fulfill the following requirements and appoint peer sponsors:

Responsibility |
AND
Have held at the time of his/her application, for a period of not less than ten years, a position of important technical or scientific responsibility in relation to the development or application of welding/joining or one of the allied technologies. |

Contributions |
AND
Have made significant personal contributions to the technology of welding/joining or one of the allied processes, and held a post of technical or scientific responsibility in relation to this technology. |

And
Membership |
AND
normally be a Senior Member of the Institute for a minimum of 5 years |

Professional Interview |
AND
All candidates will be required to attend an interview conducted by three fellows. |

Professional Development |
AND
Maintain and enhance competence with professional development through personal reviews and objectives, related activities, provision of evidence and evaluation of outcomes. |
