What is Joining Forces Wales?

Backed by the Welsh Development Agency, Joining Forces Wales is an EU funded programme for engineering manufacturing companies which have less than 250 employees and are based in the Objective 1 regions of Wales. It covers welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, mechanical fastening and all allied technologies.

What is the purpose of this e-bulletin?

This is the first e-bulletin for Joining Forces Wales. Its objective is to tell you about some of the free technical support services for your company and how you can start using them.

FREE technical support

Joining Forces Wales is run by materials joining specialist TWI which has a new regional technology centre in Port Talbot (tel. 01639 864 700). Here are some of the free services for eligible companies:

  • Technical Helpdesk. Dial 01223 891 162 and ask for the Wales Helpdesk for unlimited, one-to-one access to experts for technical advice and information

  • 24/7 online information through JoinIT. You are already registered to use JoinIT: here's your User ID: _______ and your Password: _______

  • Product & Process Review. Two days free, technical support in any aspect of materials joining and related technical issues. Includes a written report which summarises key findings and makes recommendations for action.
