To update you on Joining Forces Wales activities and developments, this is the latest e-bulletin ( previous issues are available if you would like to see them).

Technology demonstrators:
- Air Products PLC, Acrefair. PC-based expert system software to aid selection of gases for welding, cutting and thermal spraying, and to provide advice on weld defects and fume generation. Also, performance trials on shielding gas mixtures for productivity/cost comparisons.
- Grahams Machinery (Sales), Chester. MMA, MIG/MAG, TIG welding, weld automation, plasma cutting, machine tools for fabrication and industrial fasteners.
- Henrob Ltd, Deeside, North Wales. Self-pierce riveting and attachment of self-piercing threaded studs using hydraulic or electric servo systems. Demonstrations, practical advice and hands-on trials.
- Informed Data Systems Limited, Bridgend. Rapid prototyping equipment, CAD\CAM and internet-based design systems, plus training and support for these. Also, IT hardware planning/configuration, and interactive training equipment.
- Plasma & Thermal Coatings Ltd, Newport. Air plasma spray and high velocity oxyfuel spray - plus robotic manipulation and metallurgical support in thermal spraying. Demonstrations, practical advice and hands-on trials.
- Rapid Heat Systems, Chester. Pre heating, stress relieving, shrink fitting and induction heating.
- TWI Technology Centre (Wales) Ltd, Port Talbot. Broad range of established and advanced non-destructive testing technologies. Demonstrations, practical advice and hands-on trials.
- W E Livermore & Son (Engineers) Ltd, Cardiff. MMA, MIG/MAG, TIG welding, and plasma cutting. Demonstrations, practical advice and hands-on trials.
Business support services:
- BIC Innovation Ltd, Bangor. Advice on Joining Forces Wales consultancy services in North Wales.
- Network75, University of Glamorgan. Operates a scheme to support progressive Objective 1 SMEs in employing engineering and technology students on 5-year degree courses.
- United Utilities, Cardiff. Energy audits and implementation of energy conserving systems.

Part-financed by the Welsh Assembly Government, Joining Forces Wales provides free, expert help to engineering manufacturing companies in the Objective 1 regions of Wales. It's helping companies increase their turnover and create or safeguard jobs.
