New coating line at REMTEC, Middlesbrough
A new, wet coating process line has been installed in the Renewable Energy Manufacturing Technology Centre (REMTEC) at TWI's North East facility.
Part of TWI's regional expansion programme, this enhances technical resources for assisting companies with an interest in -
- anti-fouling coatings for wind turbine blades
- easy-clean coatings for solar panels
- coatings for corrosion or abrasion protection
- coatings for electronic functionality
- decorative coatings

New guide to reliable operation of MIG/MAG welding equipment
TWI's latest practical workshop guide highlights the main trouble-spots that may be experienced with MIG/MAG equipment; for example, intermittent wire feed. The web-based guide offers practical advice on remedial action:

With the launch of
Joining Forces Scotland, TWI now has technical support programmes similar to
REMTEC in Scotland, the
North West,
Wales and
Yorkshire - as well as the North East.
