Professional Membership
Membership classes range from Graduate to Fellow and membership is offered at the appropriate level of knowledge and experience. The Welding Institute is a licensed member by The Engineering Council and can register appropriately qualified candidates for ECUK registration. -
Welding & Joining Society (WJS)
An open society to all those with an interest in welding and materials joining. The WJS provides access to membership benefits for those who have not yet gained the qualifications and experience to apply for Professional Membership. i.e. students, graduates and those just starting the career.
Registering as a Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician brings additional benefits:
- It identifies you as having competences that employers value
- It indicates that your competence, and your commitment to professionalism, have been assessed by other engineering professionals
- It demonstrates that your competence may be compared with standards applicable in other parts of the world
- It confirms that your commitment to preofessionalism is underwritten by the support of a national engineering institution or society licensed by the Engineering Council UK
