Younger Members Award
Richard Dolby - Rolls Royce PrizeA new award, with a prize of £1000, has been established and designed specifically for younger members. Named after a former Director of Research and Technology at TWI and sponsored by Rolls-Royce plc it is awarded by the Younger Members' Committee (YMC) of The Welding Institute to a person (or group of people, if involved in a joint project) demonstrating success in, and enthusiasm for, welding, joining and/or materials engineering at an early stage of their career.
Those eligible must have no more than five years experience after completing full time education and should be a member of The Welding & Joining Society.
The winner of the first prize was Duncan Scaife. Duncan was presented with his award at The Welding Institute AGM on 11 July 2007.
The next prize will be awarded in 2009.
