From Russia for training

Training

TWI Training & Examination Services is renowned for its training which can be adapted to suit the client's particular circumstances. Recently, a course and examination was run which required a higher degree of specialisation than usual.

A party of eight Russian divers from Podvodservis LLC in Moscow came to TWI North in Middlesbrough to undertake the CSWIP 3.1U Underwater Inspectors' course. None of the course members was fluent in English so TWI arranged for four Russian speakers to attend. One translator was responsible for producing the course literature and another, independently, for translating the CSWIP examination material.

The other two Russian speakers were technically qualified and were on hand throughout the practical training to man the diving panel and assist the course members.

The divers enjoyed the training and all passed the examination. During their visit to the UK they took the opportunity to visit York, Whitby and London.
