Well done to Stuart Greer, UK's representative in Skill 10 Welding at the WorldSkills competition in November in Shizuoka Japan who won a Medallion of Excellence in his skill category against stiff competition from the other 25 countries competing.

Stuart works for Doosan Babcock Energy. He took part in the SkillWELD competition in 2006 and was nominated by SkillWELD for the UKSkills Team. He went on to compete in Eire and Kansas as part of his preparation for the Worldskills competition. Stuart was greatly helped in his bid for success by the training he received from Kevin Jones at Doosan Babcock Tipton, Gareth Wright at Air Products, Martin Durso and Steve Sleep from TWI, and Gareth Rees the UK's 2005 Worldskill Helsinki welding competitor.

Colin Eileens, the Section Manager-Welder Training at TWI and Welding Expert for UKSkills who is responsible for competitor preparation and training said: 'I am delighted at Stuart's well-deserved success. He worked very hard to gain his place in the UKSkills team and performed splendidly in a very tough Worldskills competition'.
