FPSs and FPSOs/System wide risk-based maintenance and inspection

System wide risk-based maintenance and inspection

A recent hull assessment study was estimated to have saved one of our clients US$100M in potential production losses. The structure was an intercept vessel (a new VLCC hull which was converted to a FPSO). The FPSO entered in operation in 2001 and is expected to be in service for about 20 years.

The following was achieved:

  • Increased availability:
- 20 years of service
- avoid dry docking
- improved productivity
  • Increased hull reliability:
- improved safety
- optimised inspection
- on-site maintenance/repair
  • Increased investment return:
- added value investment
- focused investment planning
