RISKCalc TM in UltraPIPE © in Texas

TWI and SOS Engineering Software hosted a joint UltraPIPE © and RISKCalc TM risk-based inspection (RBI) training event for Huntsman Polymers in Odessa, Texas.

TWI's RISKCalc TM RBI assessment tool was chosen because it is fully API RP 580 compliant, user-friendly and, most importantly, completely integrated into UltraPIPE © (Huntsman's existing inspection data management system).

Odessa is deep in the western part of Texas and Huntsman runs a massive industrial complex outside the city. The plant produces almost 1 billion pounds per year of petrochemical feedstocks and 850 million pounds per year of polymers (polypropylene, polyethylene and APAO). Products made from this facility are some of the purest available and are used in demanding medical and electrical applications throughout the world.

Huntsman Corporation chose to implement risk-based inspection as an integral part of its substantial environmental management program.
