TWI regularly carries out a wide range of mechanical testing. In addition to standard tests, specialist testing techniques are designed to cater for almost any scenario. Typical testing services include:
- Routine mechanical testing (Charpy, tensile, hardness)
- Fracture mechanics testing (CTOD, J, KIC, R-Curve)
- Specialist small-scale testing (compact crack arrest, Pellini, Battelle, SENT)
- Large scale testing (crack arrest, wide plate (uniaxial or biaxial), pipe burst tests, full-scale bend tests)
