Plant management and inspectionRisk-based inspection (RBI)
RISKWISE TM is TWI's RBI software package. RISKWISE TM embodies TWI's knowledge-base of all relevant damage mechanisms. It quickly appraises the failure risk and ranks the remaining life of each equipment item. The result is to mitigate failure risks and optimise current inspection plans in a highly 'user friendly' manner. Compliance with standards such as API580 is implicit. Life extension and residual life
To extend the life of an ageing plant beyond its design life is of great financial value. To comply with safety regulations, the effects of corrosion, fatigue and high temperature creep must be examined in order to evaluate a safe and economic remaining life. If required, modification, condition monitoring and repair procedures are recommended to achieve target operational lifetimes. Failure analysis
Equipment failures lead to unplanned outages and expense. TWI's multi-disciplinary team with its experience and expertise is able to quickly identify the root cause of the failure so that the plant can be brought back on line in the shortest possible time. Fitness-for-service (FFS)TWI can assess component serviceability using both deterministic and probabilistic methods. Standards such as API 579, BS 7910 are applied as well as the in-house experience gathered over 50 years. TWI's CRACKWISE ® software assists clients in this regard. Repair, inspection or condition monitoring programmes can also be implemented. Training
TWI is able to improve the in-house capabilities of companies in areas such as risk-based inspection and fitness-for-service by transfer of know-how through formal training courses. These can be performed at client premises or at TWI's training centres. For further information on TWI's plant management and inspection services, contact: str@twi.co.uk Copyright ©2005 TWI Ltd |
