Fatigue life improvement techniques
TWI has a wealth of experience in the application of fatigue life improvement techniques on and off site. The most commonly used methods are weld toe burr machining, shot peening, needle peening and TIG dressing. These can significantly improve the fatigue strength of welded details and can be performed on many components in-situ.
