Professional qualifications for engineers and technicians in welding and joining related activities are provided by Professional Membership of The Welding Institute. The classes of membership are matched to the requirements of the UK Engineering Council and confer professional status on appropriately qualified individuals. There is also a special scheme for entry by the Mature Candidate Route.
