The Shipbuilders and Shiprepairers Association has recruited a new member - TWI.
The alliance with such an eminent patron of the shipping world is seen as a valuable appendage to TWI’s Industrial Membership services, particularly with respect to possible collaborative projects. The enhanced value for money for Industrial Membership will come from networking and better visibility of industry needs.
SSA as it is known is the voice of the UK Marine Industry representing shipyards, equipment manufacturers, service providers, maritime universities, and the wider marine supply chain. SSA members account for 99% of all ship production in the UK.
Shipbuilding, both civil and military, is a strategic sector for the UK and it has extensive know-how in designing, building and maintaining ships across the country.
SSA deals direct with UK government departments, national and regional agencies and is seen as the way in to Europe for the UK Maritime Industry. The association addresses the business and innovation needs of the Maritime Industry and provides a platform for advancing the interests of the sector.
