NozzleInspect

TWI is a partner in the European FP7 project NozzleInspect. The project objective is to develop a robot mounted system capable of detecting millimetric defects in nozzles and other a crucial components of a nuclear power plant.

Dimos Liaptsis of TWI’s facility in Port Talbot, Wales explains: “By using these data, we can identify any defects, and then we can characterise them. They can be either cracks, or porosity, or other defaults inside the material.'
