In June 2012, TWI Training & Examinations hosted the first in a series of competitions on Facebook, celebrating The World of Work. The competition asked people to upload a photo and add a caption as to why or how that photo related to their work. The competition was a huge success and helped TWI Training & Examinations build and engage with its online community. Over the few weeks that the competition was live, some beautiful and amazing photos from around the world were sent it, which you can view now on Facebook by
clicking here. TWI has recognised that the communications’ landscape is changing and is now using social media to connect and engage with customers, share industry and product news and gain feedback and insight about the services they offer. When nearly half of the entire population on the internet is on Facebook the value of social media should not be denied. Furthermore, social profiles are beginning to outpace branded websites as the go-to locations for user interactions.
As well as raising awareness of TWI’s services, these social forums also enable TWI to listen to their customers and respond to enquiries, comments and feedback quickly – a global communications’ channel, a market research tool and a customer service platform all in one.
Following on from that success, this month will see the launch of The World of Work – Build it! where contestants have to find some matchsticks, building blocks, Lego, lollypop sticks, paper or any other building materials available to start building their world of work model. When they've finished, they upload a photo of their model to either the
TWI Ltd or the
TWI Training & Examinations Facebook pages, with a caption about how it relates to their world of work. The winning entry will be chosen by our construction experts here at TWI, and the prize is a $100 Amazon gift card.
