Standards organisations
Most standards organisations have their own website, and we cannot list them all. However the following list will enable you to contact most international and national standards organisations.
International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) - the site offers English and French versions. It includes an introduction to ISO and its structure, details of technical committees, an ISO meetings calendar, alist of members worldwide, the ISO catalogue and an ISO 9000 news service.

World Standards Services Network - a network of publicly accessible websites of standards organisations around the world. The site gives easy access to catalogues; contact information; website searches; and workprogrammes for all member organisations.

International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) - information is presented on activities and publications, and online ordering of IEC standards. The site is in both English and French.

European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) - details are given of activities, products and services. The site does not include a standards catalogue, but gives links to all the member organisation sites to performsearches.

American National Standards Institution - this organisation operates the National Standards Systems Network, offering a variety of services to enable users to find standards and standards related information online.Use the site to browse through details of standards from many countries. The site seems to cover only current standards, and to give no cross references between current and superseded standards.

British Standards Institution (BSI) - brief information is given on their activities in standards, product certification, testing, quality assurance and training with listings of products, services and contact details.BSOnline, the online full text standards service, produced in conjunction with Technical Indexes, is available as a subscription service, but the index to this product can be viewed free by clicking on British Standards Online in theleft hand frame of the BSI homepage.
