API - American Petroleum Institute - The site is divided into three main parts: Energy consumer, media centre and energy professional. The most relevant is the energy professional section, which includes industry statistics, publications, environmental reports, meetings, training and access to the API publications and standards catalogues.

dti: Oil and Gas Directorate - A variety of information on the oil and gas sector. Full text of legislation, codes of practice and guidance notes and petroleum operations notices are available, along with environmental regulations of all types, upstream and downstream information, and a wide variety of information for all aspects of the industry. The site includes the full text of the Brown Book for 2001 (the last edition of this publication as in future the information will be entered directly into the site). Information is given about a planned UK Oil Portal.

eia - Energy Information Administration - This US Department of Energy site gives a variety of information on the oil and gas industry, and other forms of energy production. Recent statistics, annual and monthly, are easily accessible for most forms of energy production both for the USA and internationally.

GTI - From the Gas Technology Institute, offers information about the organisation and activities, industry news, technical and economic information, details of events and a company directory. Parts of the site are for subscribers only.

Offshore Engineering Information Service - Concentrates on information about publications and meetings for oil and gas exploration and production, offshore health, safety and environmental protection (resources of the seabed and renewable energy) and marine technology. It includes the Database of Petroleum and Marine Technology Publications, covering about 4500 publications for the period 1991-2002. It also includes listings of recent, current and forthcoming meetings. In addition there are items to assist you in finding offshore and petroleum information on the web.

Offshore Research - The journal Offshore Research Focus is now available online through this website. Subscription is free. The HSE project handbook is also available.

Oil Survey - Is a collection of resources for the oil and gas industry with more than 15 000 links to other sites. It concentrates on the oil and gas industry, and includes categories for services, equipment, oil and gas information, an engineering library, oil companies, country surveys, news, environmental issues and a job centre.

Schlumberger - The Hub: Petroleum Internet Links - Part of the Schlumberger site dedicated to links for the petroleum industry. It includes oil and gas companies, universities and colleges, professional societies and consortia and earth science information sources.

UKOOA (UK Offshore Operators Association) - This site, organised for the Offshore Operators Association, the representative organisation for the UK offshore oil and gas industry, includes information on the association; a variety of industry issues, such as sustainable development strategy, the environment and health and safety; and media and public affairs areas. There is also a searchable publications list, and a list of links.
