This European Commission site guides the user to information on EC and national policies, areas of renewable energy activity, information on renewable energy sources and key players. It includes news and events, website links, community programmes, publications and projects.

The European Commission Environment Site
This is a source of information on policy areas, legislation, funding opportunities, key speeches, press releases, events, and audio visual material and publications on the environment. It includes links to other sites of interest, such as the European Environment Agency, and the Joint Research Centre.

Lead Free
The Soldertec site includes information on lead free solder legislation, industry information, research areas, databases, events and news items. It also includes the text of the European lead free technology road map and 'lead free solder, the issues'. There is also a buyer's guide, and a bibliographic database (available to members of Soldertec only).

This United States Department of Energy 'Energy Trends' site examines trends in energy research and development and investment worldwide. It includes energy R&D investment reports for most areas of the world and links to useful sites. Last update on the statistical information appears to be June 2000.

Environmental Data Interactive Exchange
A free interactive site for professionals in the environmental field. It gives access to an environment and energy helpline; some editorial and articles available as full text from a number of core journals; a diary of events; a searchable reference library and a job centre. There is also a technology database for equipment in the environmental and water industries and a software guide.

Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment
The website of the UK's professional body for those involved in environmental management in industry, commerce and local government. It includes information on the institute, key documents and a web forum. The publications pages include sample journals on environmental best practice and full text of the environmental law bulletin. The Key documents section includes items on best practice and ISO 14001.
