If you receive the Bulletin, it means that your company is an Industrial Member of TWI. Do you appreciate the range of services available to you? Are you making the most of your Membership? Let me remind you of some of the more practical help available to you, at no extra cost.
Technical Enquiry Service - Enquiries can be made by telephone, letter, fax or e-mail, and our staff will provide you with a rapid reply. Technical enquiries that we can answer rapidly based on our existing knowledge are free of charge. More complex enquiries can be charged against your company's remaining pre-paid consultancy allowance.
We encourage you to make direct contact with TWI specialists using the names listed in the 'Who Knows' directory. Please contact me if you need extra copies of 'Who Knows'.

Pre-paid Consultancy Allowance - 20% of your company's annual technology access fee is assigned to pre-paid consultancy and library services. This facility enables us to answer extended enquiries free of charge, to fund consultancy site visits at very short notice and to cover the costs of some of the library services and literature searches.
Library and Information Services - Industrial Members have unlimited access to the library facilities available at TWI at no additional charge, with the exception of photocopying and literature searches which carry a small charge that can be deducted from the pre-paid consultancy allowance.
Facilities include:
- A loan service (books, journals, conference proceedings, videos)
- Literature searches and retrieval on Weldasearch and other databases
- Trade literature on welding consumables and equipment.
- Information on national and international standards
- Technical literature
- Company information and suppliers lists
- Personalised updates.
The technical library of TWI is without equal in the world and Weldasearch is the literature database produced by TWI since 1968. Weldasearch now contains approximately 200,000 searchable abstracts.
JoinIT - accessible via TWI's web site, is TWI's online advice and information service. Please register online, indicating that your company is an Industrial Member - you will be given a user ID and a password that will enable you to obtain advanced access levels to TWI information.

JoinIT is designed to boost your efficiency through instant access to a range of technical information such as frequently asked questions, knowledge summaries, best practice guides and toolkits.
Weldasearch can be accessed via JoinIT for you to carry out your own literature searches online.
There is no limit to the number of free JoinIT Licences for Industrial Member companies.
The technical enquiry service, the pre-paid consultancy allowance, the library and information service and access to JoinIT are four of the most powerful services available to all employees of Industrial Member companies. When used effectively, they allow Industrial Members to save considerable amounts of time and money.
