The library is the latest TWI department to move premises. It took just one week and a weekend for the whole stock of books, journals, standards and conference proceedings to be transferred to the Alan Wells Building adjacent to the new Engineering Hall.

The new shelves, configured in a star formation, fit well in this bright and spacious refurbished building which was designed in the eighties by the former Director General of TWI. The official opening of the new library will be in the summer, but I am inviting you to enjoy the new facilities as soon as you can. Our team will be there to guide you in your search for information.

Good quality information is critical to most business decisions, technical or commercial, and the library is one of the many sources of knowledge used by TWI staff, Industrial and Professional Members. Wherever information is available electronically, we now make it accessible through our website. In the next issue of The Bulletin, Paul Jones describes how you can get the most out of TWI's website, which has been developed into a powerful information resource.

Web based services are a fast growing branch of information technology, and I am pleased that TWI is developing further both the traditional and the latest methods of knowledge transfer.
