The UK Health and Safety Executive provides information on risks to health and safety in the workplace, guidance on avoiding dangers, and UK national statistics on the numbers and types of incident resulting from the failure to control workplace risks adequately . The web site also includes information on their publications, services and research activities, an online enquiry service, and links to other sites.

HSE Direct aims to provide the most authoritative source of UK health and safety information. Most parts of the site are only available to subscribers. The free area includes listings of events and training courses. The subscription area includes background information on health and safety in the workplace, HSE guidance documents and circulars, UK and European legislation, HSE forms and summaries of selected health, safety and environment cases. Access for 24 hrs is available at £20.00 GB +VAT@17.5%.

US Department of Labor, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) offers information on its standards and related documents, reports and other publications, statistical data, testing and analysis techniques, events, training and registration. Has specific section on Welding, Cutting and Brazing.

US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) gives information about its services and activities including databases, research, publications, meetings and conferences. It has an extensive list of links to sites that may be useful to the occupational safety and health community (USA).
