A service for Members, designed to direct you towards major web sites that will be of value to your company. Only a small proportion of useful links can be listed in the Bulletin. More links.

These websites are three aerospace industry organisations and four national or international governmental organisations. This will be followed in the next issue by portals, and company, journal and directory sites for the industry.

Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) The Aerospace Industries Association represents the USA's leading manufacturers and suppliers of civil, military, and business aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, space systems, aircraft engines, missiles, materiél, and related components, equipment, services, and information technology. The site includes information on the association, becoming a member and membership benefits, industry issues, aerospace industry statistics, the library of journals and books, including methods of consulting 'Aerospace Facts and Figures', and information on standards for the aerospace industry and how to obtain them.

International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) the global forum for civil aviation. ICAO works to achieve its vision of safe, secure and sustainable development of civil aviation through co-operation amongst its member States. It includes details of the bureaux' activities, information on its meetings, structure and publications and a good set of links to other aviation related sites, organised under the headings government or government related and international organisations.

The Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) The website of the UK's national trade association representing companies supplying civil air transport, aerospace defence, homeland security and space and represents over 2,600 companies. The site includes information on membership and the organisation of the association, a newsroom, an events calendar, and industry information, some of which is available to members only.

UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Aerospace and Defence The DTI site that promotes competitiveness and productivity within the aerospace industry. It gives, in collaboration with industry, the recommendations of the Aerospace Innovation and Growth Team's report. Information on the Aerospace Innovation and Growth Team, defence industrial policy and strategy, launch investment and technology partnerships with the DTI in aeronautics.

Federal Aviation Administration The organisation is responsible for the safety of civil aviation in the USA to regulate civil aviation, encourage and develop civil aeronautics, develop and control the system of air traffic control and navigation for both civil and military aircraft, research and develop the National Airspace System and civil aeronautics, control aircraft noise and regulate US commercial space transportation. Included on the site is information on aircraft, airports and air traffic, statistics on air movements, accidents, safety and space data, education and research, licences and certificates, regulations and policies and safety. Also included are a jobs file and a library of publications.

Air Transport Portal of the European Commission This portal includes information on European traffic management, airports, international aviation, internal European market statistics, safety, security, passenger rights, European research and the environment.

The European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) representing the civil aviation regulatory authorities of a number of European States who have agreed to co-operate in developing and implementing common safety regulatory standards and procedures. It includes information on the constitution and development of the JAA, airworthiness, aerodromes, licensing, airworthiness and a safety strategy initiative, research, training, publications and conference information, press releases and links to other sites.
