Fred Delany

To look after our Members as effectively as possible, the membership team is divided into industry sector responsibilities. We have recently reshuffled the team, changed some sector responsibilities and welcomed Mark Roughsedge(Construction and Engineering) and Chris Otter (Electronics, Medical and Sensors, and Automotive). Here is a presentation of the new team, so that you know who to contact for any enquiry from your sector.




Fred Delany - Group Manager, Industrial Membership

Fred joined TWI in 1986 and moved to membership in 1988. He was appointed head of Industrial Member Services in 1999. Fred is responsible for the management of membership products and services and for the strategic direction of the group. He is currently involved in the international development of TWI.

Ian Froment - Section Manager, Membership Development and Sector Manager - Power Sector

 

Ian joined TWI in 1985, working initially in the area of polymer welding and graduating in 1995 with a BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering before moving to the Membership group in 2000. As well as managing the Membership Development team, Ian is also responsible for interfacing with Members in the Power Sector. You can contact Ian if there are any issues with your Membership or if you want a contact point when you have a technical enquiry.

Chris Otter - Sector Manager, Electronics, Medical and Sensors, and Automotive

 

Chris joined TWI in 1983 initially working in materials testing followed by a period in high power laser processes. After 10 years as a technician Chris became a project leader and graduated in 2000 with a BEng (Hons) in Manufacturing Systems Engineering. As Senior Project Leader in the Microtechnology Section, his responsibilities included proposing, leading and delivering focused projects for TWI members in the areas of laser, resistance and ultrasonic welding, and wire bonding for microelectronics for a diverse range of applications including welding for automotive electronics, implantable medical devices, miniature displays and experimental laser processes. Chris has recently joined the Membership Development group with responsibility for Electronics, Medical and Sensors and Automotive.

Caroline Young - Section Manager, Membership Services and Sector Manager - Oil, Gas andPetrochemicals

 

Caroline joined TWI in September 2000 with a PhD in Materials Engineering from Brunel University, West London. In August 2002, she moved to Industrial Membership recruitment with responsibility for managing a portfolio of existingand potential Members in the Oil,Gas and Petrochemical and Power business sectors. In July 2007, Caroline took responsibility for managing the Membership Services team and retains responsibility for growing TWI Oil and Gas Membership portfolio.

Mark Roughsedge - Sector Manager, Construction and Engineering

 

Mark joined TWI in May 2005 as a Technical Business Developer based in TWI Technology Centre Yorkshire after more than 20 years working in the advanced engineering and metals industry. Mark graduated from Cardiff University in 1984with a BSc Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his first three years with TWI, Mark was responsible for the management and successful delivery of several Yorkshire regional Technology Transfer Programmes. He moved to Industrial Membership Services in November 2008, as Sector Manager responsible for the Construction and Engineering Sector.

Chris Wiseman - Sector Manager, Aerospace and Equipment, Consumables and Materials (ECM)

 

Chris Wiseman is responsible for Corporate Development of Membership in the ECM and Aerospace Sectors. He joined TWI in 2007 following a four year Business Manager role, delivering high end materials testing services into Aerospace,Automotive and General Engineering. Previously Chris enjoyed almost 30 years experience with a global Aluminium producer, during which he developed a technical and knowledge transfer career in research and development.
