New agreement with Columbus

EWI and TWI have reached a new co-operative agreement. While some provisions in the working arrangements between the companies will change, both organisations remain strongly committed to the principle of joint provision of aseamless array of services for their members. Members will continue to benefit from access to the technology and services of both companies.

After reviewing the agreement, first written in 1984, the companies decided to adopt a new agreement that, whilst making several changes to the internal working arrangements and administrative structure, will be largely transparentto their Members in the services they receive.

One new provision allows members to switch their membership fee from one to the other. The amount of free advice, consultancy and project work that the Member draws is a key measure in this decision. Members wishing to consider thisoption must notify both institutes in writing six months or more in advance of their membership renewal date.
