Journalist John Dadson accepts first prize from TV presenter Angela Rippon

Two top TV accolades have been won by TWI at this year's Royal Television Society awards.

Films made by TWI's television team, swept the board in category seven of the honours, which rewards excellence in the non-broadcast video sector.

'A Matter of Practice', a TWI production about the European microelectronics business won first prize. The programme took the TWI team to thirteen locations in eight European and Scandinavian countries in pursuit of itsmaterial.

Second prize was also won by TWI for its production 'The Laser Millennium', an insight into the use of industrial lasers in the future.

At a glittering gala awards ceremony, fronted by Angela Rippon, TWI's first prize was accepted by journalist John Dadson, its Editor of Television.

'This was made possible solely by a superb production team' Dadson told Connect, 'Brian Smith, Simon Condie and Roy Smith are TWI's unsung heroes behind all our programmes.'
