In July this year TWI's Chief Executive, Bevan Braithwaite, was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

The award was given in recognition of a lifelong career in a UK world-leading research establishment with outstanding personal contributions in management for the future, technology promotion and industrial relevance

Bevan Braithwaite was appointed Chief Executive of TWI in June 1988 having previously been the Managing Director and prior to that, Director of Development at Abington.
