Small components can now be tested in new ways thanks to a new universal testing machine, the LRX, courtesy of Lloyd Instruments Ltd.

The microprocessor-controlled machine covers tensile, compression and creep testing up to a maximum load, currently, of 1kN. Both constant load and constant strain rate can be examined, as well as other variations. Examples testedto date include laser welded fabrics and micro-resistance welded joints, demonstrating its versatility across a wide range of polymeric and metallic materials.
