Building on the success of the existing TWI-CIDB welder training facility in Johor Bahru, another TWI-CIDB School of Welding has just been opened in Kuching, Sarawak.

Kuching is ideally placed for the East Malaysian market with a catchment area which includes the oil and gas industry and a major power plant.

The facilities at this new location include twenty eight welding bays which cater for SMAW, GTAW and GMAW/FCAW processes with state-of-the-art extraction and gas piping systems.

Kuching training centre can deal with training up to twenty five student welders per intake per month, as well as carrying out a range of welding inspection and other courses.

From opening of the facility in September, the centre has been fully utilised and bookings for future courses are good.
