Young author causes a stir

When TWI put forward Davide Kleiner to speak at this year's BINDT annual conference it had no idea it was registering the would-be winner of this year's Best Paper by a Young Author title.

The accolade, for the best contribution by an under 30 year old, was presented at Worcester's Bank House Hotel following a three day assembly of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing.

The event is staged annually and gives the community of NDT specialists the opportunity to present aspects of their recent work to like-minded professionals.

Davide is a technical project leader of the NDT technology group at TWI. The subject of his work, entitled ' Signal processing for quality assurance in friction stir welds' was based on a European Union sponsored project called Qualistir.
