It was a truly international event when representatives of the major textiles and clothing organisations attended 'New production methods for advanced garments' held at TWI on 7 September. This first national workshop was held underthe auspices of the Leapfrog programme, which provides a knowledge resource and technology development for the European garment making industry.
Fourteen speakers from six countries gave presentations on new developments in textile production and garment manufacture covering such topics as smart fabrics, the use of robotics in production and laser welding techniques fortextile seaming.
Over 70 delegates attended the event which was voted a great success.
