The Make It with Lasers seminar 'MES-merise- lasers in medical, electronic and sensors', was held at in Great Abington on 8 June 2006. This extremely successful event in the long-running Make It With Lasers programme attracted anaudience of over 30 people. Delegates came from throughout Britain, as well as a few hardy travellers from Sweden, France and Ireland. Make It With Lasers hold twice-yearly events to meet and discuss issues and new developments onlasers in industry.
New and established industrial laser users, together with members of academia, laser manufacturers and suppliers gathered to discuss progress on the use of lasers in the medical, electronics and sensors field. The event was chairedby Geoff Booth, Manager of TWI's Laser and Sheet Processes Group.
The seminar included exhibitions, technical presentations, live laser demonstrations on marking and welding from Electrox, GSI Group, LaserSOS, Rofin-Baasel and Trumpf. There was also an opportunity to view laser welding of plasticsat TWI.
