Funding has been secured by TWI to create and manage the UK's Health Technologies Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) on behalf of the Department for Trade and Industry (DTI).
This specific KTN builds on the work of the Medical Devices Faraday Partnership.
Sue Dunkerton, Director of the new Health Technologies KTN and a senior manager at TWI said: 'We're delighted to have been awarded this new funding, in collaboration with our Partners. While it is a clear endorsement of our deliveryof the Medical Device Faraday Partnership, we're excited that the funds will enable us to build a new and more ambitious programme that will benefit the whole of the medical device industry.'
The KTN will focus on bringing products and processes into the medical device and healthcare technology market more rapidly than could be achieved if organisations were to work alone.
For those operating in this increasingly important field, the KTN will bring clarity to the important issues that impact on their commercial success. It will update the industry's roadmap for product development. And for thosebringing concepts, technologies and products through the medical innovation pipeline, the KTN will streamline the journey toward commercial success.
