MMCs database goes live

Managed by TWI, the National Composites Network (NCN) has been instrumental in establishing an online information database on metal matrix composites (MMCs).

The database stems from a recommendation by the MMCs Working Group of the NCN and was developed by the Northwest Composites Centre with NCN funding.

The Working Group ran a roadmapping workshop to assess the current state of MMCs in the UK and define future goals for the technology sector. The new database is one of the outcomes of this key activity.

Database coverage includes MMC material types and properties; production routes and processing; industrial applications; suppliers; publications; and key contacts. The database is at www.ncn-mmc.co.uk
