Skycraft Services Ltd, a TWI Industrial Member company, specialises in propeller supply and maintenance for vintage and collection aircraft. They have been appointed to service all the vintage propellors for the aircraft of the RAFBattle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Recently they contacted TWI to seek corroboration of their findings during the service of propeller hubs from a Hawker Hurricane and a Supermarine Spitfire. They had discovered crack-like indications and visited TWI to repeatMagnetic Particle Inspection tests in the presence of an independent expert. Malcolm Spicer, an NDT Level 3 Inspector and Principal Project Leader in TWI's non-destructive testing group, was able to confirm Skycraft's findings andrecommend a course of action to ensure that these icons of Britain's aviation history continue in service into the future.
