Faster than a speeding bullet

Bloodhound

The Bloodhound SSC© project is Britain’s latest attempt at the world land speed record and development is progressing on a car able to reach 1000mph.

TWI is working on the design and build of the car chassis. This is technically demanding as it involves bonding dissimilar metals – steel, aluminium and even titanium – in manner which results in both lightness and strength. The method proposed is riv-bonding which combines adhesives and riveting to produce the strongest joint achievable.
