NozzleInspect
TWI is a partner in the European FP7 project NozzleInspect. The project objective is to develop a robot mounted system capable of detecting millimetric defects in nozzles and other a crucial components of a nuclear power plant.
Dimos Liaptsis of TWI’s facility in Wales explains: “By using these data, we can identify any defects, and then we can characterise them. They can be either cracks, or porosity, or other defaults inside the material.’

TWI reach £1m in the US
TWI are delighted to report that they have just passed the £1m threshold in income from Members in the
USA. Following the establishment of an office in Houston, Texas offering US-based engineering services the
number of prestigious American companies coming into Membership has increased dramatically and now stands at 60.
New WJS Technical Group to be launched in 2012
