£1/2M Plastics Joining Demonstration Centre at TWI North

TWI are pleased to announce the opening of a plastics joining demonstrator at their Middlesbrough premises. With support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) via the Joining Forces programme, and industry, this new facility will introduce plastics joining technology to the area.

On visiting this centre, local companies can easily assess the viability of using plastics for their business. Demonstrations of commonly-used joining processes and multi-media techniques are combined to provide the latest plasticsjoining knowhow. Processes include butt fusion, electrofusion, extrusion, hot gas, hot plate, impulse, RF (radio frequency), spin, ultrasonic, and vibration welding, plus testing facilities.
