How to search
Search by Title to find a particular item – use % as the wild card.
Search by Subject to find items on a particular topic.
Use Free Text also to find items on a particular topic but note that it is less structured, and the list is in order of relevance – all the other lists are alphabetical by title.
Free text is also useful for tracking down specific places, plants, rigs, etc.
Use the Advanced search to combine two or more subjects or freetext terms.
You can filter any search further by limiting the date range or restricting the media type.
NB If your search results include items available electronically the links on each entry will take you to the items but do not automatically by-pass any log-ins that each site may require.
