What is Biomass Conversion?

TWI Frequently asked questions

by Anita Buxton

Biomass Conversion is a method of power production from the incineration of waste. Fuels containing carbon, from renewable energy sources (e.g. sawmill waste), are used to produce electricity. The process is more efficient than the cold condensation reaction within a coal-fired power station and, since less oil is used, there are reduced SO 2 emissions.
