Agility may be considered as an ability to cope with rapid change. Kidd [1] , in 1944, noted that '.... agile manufacturing can be considered as the integration of organisation, highly skilled and knowledgeable people and advanced technologies to achieve co-operation and innovation in response to the need to supply our customers with high quality, customised products'.
